    I believe if we were watching the movie in the order suggested in this video, the suspense of disbelief wouldn't work for long, we would start to suspect whether Jim was the one who woke her up soon after we saw him. This idea would follow us until the reveal that it was actually him. Which would make it a weak movie overall, if that was the only twist.

    With CIA funding, in order to prop up the image of the west as a place of free expression and innovation. Not made up, not even a teeany widdle bit made up. Public record at this point. Extreme abstract art was an astroturf movement, in the sense that while its practitioners meant what they were doing, the government and rich patrons meant something else. Addressing art history without money and politics is not really a thing that works anymore.

    how about he dies, she forgives him and crys over his death and then starts her struggle with loneliness and thinks about waking someone else up but the movie ends before she does. this leaves the door open for a sequel! or if the movie does really really well A TRILOGY! The holy grail of film making! Wont someone please think of the money! No one thinks of the money anymore!

    great video! Thank you! For me the show felt like instead of trying to create an alien world based on earth animals, which is about eat or be eaten, it is modeled after earth's entomology kind of logic. It's not about hierarchy, about violence that will chose which one is the strongest, it's more about how one will embody the other in a way, a synthesis of symbiotic organisms that create something new. it is a world constantly changing and evolving. It reminds me of parasitic relationships in the world of bugs where cruelty has a new level of meaning and survival has a distorted feeling to it. I don't think I have ever watched a show so reminiscent of this behavior of an alien where there is no right or wrong,no god morals or anything like that. Maybe the thing arguably. but yeah, Scavengers Reign was absolutely brilliant and so refreshing on its take on alien world!

    It feels as if Herzog has some innate need to suffer. Why else would he continue to cast Klaus Kinski? It's some kind of self-loathing. Why else would a man put himself in the midst of a terrifically, terrible jungle and then bring Klaus Kinski along?

    i loved this show, deeply. it gave me the sense that the writer/writers (?) had done their homework in evolutionary biology. the creatures lived by the rules of the world, instead of serving the plot. it also felt a lot like an acid trip to me, where the world they had created was taking dramatic license, but only in the sense that things had been exaggerated as if they were a dream-not to make them "cooler". what an utter gem of a show.

    Pollock's paintings were only popular thanks to a psy-op by the CIA, something that every kid who sees them intuitively realizes, but is chided by "experts" for not seeing the real value. Then again, everyone who looks at Wyeth's works immediately recognizes the gravity, the skill, the emotion...

    Oh, grow some balls and just admit that Jackson Pollock work is crap and Andrew Wyatt work is good.

  • @jab5980
    @jab5980 3 дні тому

    The edit does sound like a better movie in a lot of ways, I’m not sure it works with the cast though, after all, can you look at Chris Pratt and see villain? Well, maybe, but just like Fishburne I still have sympathy for Jim, like he said, “the drowning man will always try and drag somebody down with him. It ain't right, but the man's drowning.” So here are 2 other possible fixes, first, Aurora dies in the pool when the gravity failed and Jim dies fixing the ship, second option, Jim spends more time thinking about waking Aurora and gets started doing just that when he stops, starts reversing his work, but then the ship has a malfunction that accidentally finishes what Jim started and Aurora is woken up. In the first scenario everyone else lives and Jim had left a confession, then you’d start with the crew waking up and seeing the ship looks weird with plants everywhere and when they investigate they find the confession and the story proceeds from there. In the second scenario Jim hesitates in that final moment before Aurora would have been woken up, and decides he can’t do it, pulls out his changes, but because her panel is open and some failure happens her pod starts to open and Jim is trying to stop it when she wakes, she’s vaguely aware of him, but coming out of hibernation means she’s disoriented and doesn’t understand. In this version Jim has to be waiting outside her door and explain what happened immediately, no romance, at least not at first, and the problems on the ship would actually have to be the next act; if there’s still a romance it begins when she saves Jim at the end of fixing the ship. Now, while I was writing that I was watching the movie and thought of one more ending, the auto Doc fails to revive Jim so he’s dead, the ship is fixed, and Aurora is alone - by the way, in this one you need to edit down the runtime a lot because there’s one more act. From here Aurora starts doing all the things she did with Jim only to fall into depression, and while she’s not suicidal or thinking of replacing Jim, she does want to leave something behind so she writes her book while occasionally reading up on the ship just in case anything else goes wrong and because the action reminds her of Jim. Maybe she goes a little nuts and starts hallucinating talking with Jim about the ship, but it’s been a couple years with no one but Arthur and then she discovers that the auto doc can put her in a form of stasis, but it needs someone outside the pod to activate it and her hallucinations of Jim say he’d have done it for her, then it ends either with her crying alone or considering if she could wake someone, maybe her hallucination tells her he doesn’t want to see her sad and you end with her standing over some other pod, tools in hand.

    Hey, if you're interested in making a video about Dune Part 2, you'll find some interesting source material in "Moebius 1: Upon a Star." I strongly believe that Denis Villeneuve took a lot of inspiration from the comic. You might even find some of the voice lines and the final battle structure echoed in the film. i'm sending this because i'm a fan of your channel and i would love to see you make a video about dune part 2.
